Our Mission
STEP's mission is to inform and educate the Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) community and promote opportunities for the improvement
of the EMS system.
STEP began these activities in 1967 and the Council of the Genesee
Region was incorporated in 1977. The STEP Council of the Genesee
Region, Inc. is a not-for-profit tax exempt 501(c)3 organization.
The Board of Directors consists of physicians, nurses, paramedics,
EMTs, firefighters, security and law enforcement officers, county
EMS coordinators, and community representatives who have an interest
in EMS. There are no fixed office rent or salary expenses since
all activities are carried out by volunteers.
